Blue-toothed to your compatible phone for an inexpensive lap timing device that is as accurate as any $700-$990 dedicated GPS Lap timer.
This device is easily stowed with your phone in your ductail or jacket pocket - set & forget. No need to set up a receiver outside the track - this GPS unit just needs the track downloaded to your phone (which is free) & you are ready to go!
You do not have to ride around the track to set your sector points - they are already done. You literally turn it on, start the program on your phone, put them both in your pocket or ductail and head out onto the track.
These devices are particularly good for use at tracks where you want your timing devices to be discrete. Even if you store it under your ductail, you will still have access to more than enough satellites - you do not need the unit out in the open!
If you have your favourite piece of road and would like to know how you go on it, you can go out for a spin with your timer on, then after you've done the road and stopped for a break, set your sector points and you now have your favourite piece of road set up as your own track with all the information you want! Even from that first time. Once you set the points it will calculate your times, speeds and split times. No other device does that. Every time you go back, you turn your unit on and away you go. Great for sorting out with your mates, who is actually doing what!!!
With most other devices, you have to ride around the track, pushing buttons to set your sector points and start finish line. With most other devices you have to have the unit out in the open to get a good enough signal. Not this one.
Information you see on your session includes; your travelled route, speed at any given point (measured to one tenth of a kilometer per hour), lap times, split times, optimum lap, best lap, performance tests like quater mile time or 0-100km/h and so much more.
This unit and program operates independently. You do not need to have phone service for this to work. This does not operate through your phone service provider - it is just your QStarz GPS Unit sending info to your phone via bluetooth.
